Missions in Santiago, Dominican Republic
Providence Baptist Church partners with Pastor Kilvys Candelario and Iglesia Bautista Caminando por Fe in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Through the preaching of God’s Word, discipleship, and outreach, this church is working to make Christ known in its community and among the nations.
One significant part of this ministry is a drug rehabilitation program for men. As men receive help to leave behind addiction, they are hearing the gospel and being taught the Scriptures. By God’s grace, men are coming to saving faith in Jesus Christ, being baptized, and being added as members of the church, where they continue to grow through discipleship, fellowship, and accountability.
The church is currently building a rehabilitation facility for teens, with future plans to establish a program for women as well. These ministries seek to meet the needs of those struggling with addiction while pointing them to the lasting hope found in Jesus Christ.
Their vision also reaches beyond the Dominican Republic. The church is training missionaries to serve in the Middle East and other Muslim-majority countries, preparing them to proclaim the gospel among people who have little access to faithful Christian witness.
We are grateful to support this work through prayer, practical assistance, and missions trips. Please join us in praying for Pastor Kilvys, his church, those entering the rehabilitation programs, and the missionaries being prepared to go—asking God to save sinners, strengthen His church, and open doors for the gospel among the nations.
